Accelerate HR is a personnel and payroll system for the enterprise.

This is a site I’m building in full public view – initially for a large construction client with about 3000 employees in the Mid-East. There’s a blog feed where we update progress – http://feeds.feedburner.com/AccelerateHR )

So far, there are three modules – Set-Up, Hiring and Employee Records – and a blog. In the coming weeks and months, we need to have modules for Payroll, Attendance Management, Manpower Planning, Document Storage and Generation, and Management Reporting. Oh – and a self-service module where people can view and update their own records.

In the blog, I’m discussing some of the Rails techniques I’ve found useful – in particular, I need to be able to handle bulk import of data at speed.

Recent blog posts on the site describe the success I’ve had with the ar-extensions gem/plugin – and how I’ve managed to create 40,000 records in just 24 seconds.
