Rails Engineer/Developer

Pay: Very competititve

Crazy about Rails? Want to make it easier for apps to hum and scale? We do, too. At New Relic, we're passionate about helping developers solve tough Rails performance problems. We're looking for a few likeminded Rails developers and customer support engineers in Portland, Oregon to help us grow (soon: San Francisco as well). The technical challenges of performance management can be daunting. Fortunately, our core team—led by founder and CEO Lew Cirne—has done it before. Lew founded Wily Technology in 1998, and they became the leader in web application performance management for large enterprises. Now, we're bringing that expertise to the Rails community. We have just launched and already the product is getting accolades (see comments on our website from some of our fans). But there is still a lot of work to be done. Your job responsibilities? We are small and growing fast. Coming on early, you will have the opportunity to make a big difference in a variety of ways, depending on your skills and interests. We are far more interested in getting great people who can do what needs to be done . . . not cramming people into an over-specified box. We expect that you will have several years of commercial Rails experience, have a number of production websites under your belt, know how to get around on linux, and have a love affair with the Mac. Ready to go? Send a résumé to jobs@newrelic.com.
