We are looking for an experienced Ruby on Rails developer who can help us in the shortest possible term with the development of a planning and reporting application. The application helps planners to plan work by freelancers for clients, and creates reports of hours worked. The application serves three types of users: * Administrators. Very simple: just create and disable accounts. The administrator can also log in to their customers' accounts, as if they were their employees. * Planner/Account owner. They own their account, and have full permissions in that account. * Planner/Employee. They can do whatever the manager can do, except making changes in the account data (changing the company name etc). Description of functionality for managers and employees: * Calendar (day view of appointments planned for the day) * Planning (make/change/cancel appointment) * Clients * Contracts * Monthly reports * Price lists * Freelancers (add/edit/delete) We have a written introduction, clean HTML screens and CSS, and an introduction screencast. Although the application is small, the rules are fairly complex. Especially the reporting will take some brain cycles to understand. However we know the rules well and can explain them to you very clearly. A designer and experienced colleague Rails pro are available for feedback and help with "sub-tasks": perhaps writing helper functions or JavaScripts, exporting PDFs etcetera. The interface language is Dutch, but the HTML source (including IDs and CLASS names) and the project documentation are clearly explained in English. The domain language has also been clearly defined; we have left as little room for ambiguity and error as possible. The approach would be to work together with a designer in Basecamp and a Rails app tree in a Github repository: the designer refining the HTML, CSS and helpers, and you working on models, controllers and javascripts. If you are confident that you can complete a Rails app with fairly complex rules and if you are interested in doing the project, please send us an email, including some information about earlier work and experience, when you could begin working, and your terms and conditions.
