Our unique question & answer site was recently featured in TIME Online (http://www.time.com/time/business/article/0,8599,1631960,00.html), has more than 50,000 addicted members, and is growing quickly. Located steps from MIT in the heart of the tech sector of Cambridge, we enjoy a small team and a great casual work environment. wis.dm is entering an exciting expansion period for our product and our team (hint:we're a lot more than just Q&A). We are searching for a Ruby on Rails developer to join our small core engineering group. A candidate must have exemplary code-design skills, be fluent in the idioms of MVC architectures, and harbor fantasies of building the best damn applications out there. Desire to work in a close-knit team and be a self-starter on meaty development tasks a must. Required Skills: - Degree in Computer Science or related field - 3-5 years experience building customer-facing web applications of scale - Experience implementing complex XHTML/CSS/JavaScript applications - Recent experience with Ruby on Rails - Commitment to and expertise in creating superior user experiences - Proficiency with SQL (MySQL or equivalent) and comfortability with DB administration/optimization - Fluent in Unix environments (Mac OS X, Linux, Solaris, etc.) - Experience with memcached, apache, nginx, mongrel a plus - Desire to learn new technologies, and master ones you know
