RubyPeople - An opportunity has a risen for a team of Ruby on Rails developers, from junior to very senior level, working on some very exciting projects in a dynamic working environment in beautiful Gibraltar. Staff residence is popular on the south coast of Spain within walking distance of the company offices. The client recently completed the first phase of replacing their betting and gaming website with a new version written in Ruby on Rails. They are using Ruby 1.8.6, Rails 2.0.2, Apache, Mongrel, HAProxy, Memcache and MySQL. The web site talks to the application tier (written in Java) using XML-RPC and JSON services. This project is considered to be multi-lingual, multi-currency, multi-timezone, multi-skin, CMS-driven, Web 2.0 and a good example of how Ruby on Rails can be used in the "enterprise". Accommodation can be made for candidates who want to complete a short contract assignment and move on to become permanent. However, remote working is not possible. This is a fantastic opportunity for Ruby and Ruby on Rails Developers who can demonstrate an ability to build sophisticated sites and web apps from scratch, and develop in agile/scrum methodologies.
