A top academic institution is re-architecting its web application infrastructure and is hiring a lean team to implement this to a high standard. The project will involve re-designing a number of the Universities internet and intranet applications across a range of academic departments and administrative sections. This is a challenging and varied role where the development team will engage with numerous stakeholders across a number of university departments to deliver a high quality and consistent solution. Working closely with an Agile Java Developer and Business Analyst you will deliver rapid and efficient solutions for a wide range of applications.. You will have the freedom to re-design a great percentage of the web framework ensuring a faster, more maintainable and user friendly suite of applications which will make a real difference to user productivity. You will have at least 3 years commercial Ruby on Rails development experience and a good understanding of object oriented analysis/design & design patterns. Strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a multi-discipline environment are essential. Experience with Java will be a plus. Start date ASAP.
