UxStation is seeking an entrepreneurial & pragmatic Software Engineer for a social philanthropy start-up dedicated to empowering anyone with passion for change to impact the world: By building tools for individuals to mobilize their network of friends to grow lasting social and political movements, we are currently the largest online platform for activism, with over 100 million registered users and $25 million raised for charity through our platform. Even with over 100 million registered users, this is a small team of 6 engineers and 2 people in operations. We think we provide a unique opportunity: most companies with our product maturity and traction over 50 employees and so do not offer the chance for immediate contribution, while most companies as small as us do not have nearly the same reach. Here you will get to quickly become a critical member of our team; we have projects we need worked on immediately that will be used by millions of users. And all of this in service not of a vague notion of changing the world, but a very deliberate mission. The ideal candidate will have at least: 4+ year college degree in computer science (or related) OR equivalent professional experience Work experience developing software in a business environment, preferably with Linux/UNIX Database, application architecture and software systems design experience Experience with at least one dynamic language (Ruby, Python, JavaScript, PHP, Perl, Scheme, Lisp, etc.) Excellent problem solving abilities, a firm grasp on algorithms and rock-solid computer science fundamentals For further info, please get in touch via email, thx! :) Theresa D.
