We are looking for a motivated individual with comprehensive skills and experience architecting and implementing software. (We are happy to consider people who wish to re-locate to France!) Experience: Minimum 5 years software engineering/development Minimum 2 years with RoR (and associated technologies: HTTP, HTML, CSS, Javascript) Test/spec driven development Authoring technical specifications Deployment tools Assets: Security auditing and/or exposure to security concepts (SSL, session management, password management, etc.) Postgres (preferred) or MySQL: replication, backup, etc. Experience with web servers (Apache, Nginx, lighttpd) Experience with scaling and load balancing Experience with systems (DNS, SMTP, etc.) to help communication with our technical team In practice: -working with our design and technical teams to product detailed technical specifiations to define the implementation -working with our technical team to architect the implementation: modularize functionality, future scalability, provide extensibility, etc. -doing primary development, but also working with other developers on the implementation -engage in continuous testing, both server-side and client-side -mentorship: work with less experienced programmers, providing best practices, code review, etc. Skills: Ruby/Rails (PHP an asset) Git (SVN an asset) *nix (OpenSolaris an asset): any shell + tools - patch, sed, awk, etc. SQL (MySQL/Postgres command lines, debugging tools, etc.) Spec/testing tools and concepts: Rspec, Cucumber, unit testing, Selenium, etc..
