Optimor is looking for an experienced lead web developer to build our data-driven web service. This is an excellent opportunity to build a product from concept to launch while working with a talented team of developers and mathematicians. Optimor's next generation comparison technology provides personalised and accurate recommendations to consumers, integrating state-of-the-art research in mathematical statistics by senior Oxford academics. We are an Oxford based start-up, funded by Europe’s leading early stage investors, The Accelerator Group, and the DTI. Responsibilities: * Prototyping new features and concepts for review and testing * Drive the project from start to finish with minimal supervision, coordinating closely with the lead engineer * Adhering to web standards and insuring cross browser compatibility Requirements: * Demonstrated experience (min. 3 years) in web development - product/project references required * Expert cross-browser, cross-platform compatibility CSS skills * Strong scripting skills (including either ruby or python or php) and Javascript * Experience with an open source web framework, either Ruby on Rails or Django or php based MVC framework * Interest in user interfaces and experience with user feedback * Authorised to work in the UK * Flash scripting (preferred) Extras: * MySQL or other database proficiency * LAMP sysadmin experience * Interest/experience in Agile development practices Please send your CV to jobs@optimorlabs.com.
