Brian Szucs, CEO & Founder

Brian Szucs is the CEO and Founder of Ruberion a New Jersey based development firm dedicated to building high quality web applications specializing in Ruby on Rails and agile development methodologies.

Mr Szucs is an expert in the architecture, design, and development of complex, large-scale distributed enterprise computing systems based on component and Internet technologies.

Prior to co-founding Ruberion, Brian has built and consulted on many full life-cycle products using Ruby on Rails over the past 3 years including 800500care.com, EasyOne.com, thedietdoc.com and dietdocshop.com. He has also consulted on the beta release (in-progress) of yourankit.com as well as eCounseling.com (in-progress)

Prior to that, Mr. Szucs served as the Senior Software Architect for Maher Terminals, the largest privately owned container terminal in North America. There, Mr. Szucs was responsible for orchestrating the design and implementation of many full life-cycle enterprise software products including a state of the art gate system that leverages optical character recognition and a global positioning systems for tracking shipping containers on site.

Mr. Szucs has designed and deployed many key technologies, including a distributed web application that handled requests for a Digital Global Positioning Service, a very scalable, distributed web service driven java solution that linked up a third party OCR (Optical Character Recognition) systems to a legacy SQL backend, a distributed payment gateway for online credit card processing using different user interfaces including an Oracle PL/SQL client, a Teklogix wireless user interface and a JSP interface.

Mr. Szucs also designed, tested and implemented 4 proprietary container terminal systems using Java, Visual C+, Visual Basic/ASP Components, Jakarta-Tomcat and embedded SQL for the front end and Oracle 8/9i for the backend; helped manage, design and implement 1 system using VBScript, Visual Basic COM’s, Visual C+ COM’s, ASP and Java Script, IIS on Windows NT 4.0/2000 Professional for the front end and Oracle 9 for the backend; assisted in the design and implementation of the data models in Oracle 8.0 using Designer 2000 and SQL/PLSQL and in designing and implementing a transaction database using triggers packages and stored procedures.
