I’m a developer who lives in Madison, WI. I’ve been programming in a professional environment for 5 years. However, I started programming as a hobby when I was around 10 years old.
Currently I’m a contractor for CCAP (Circuit Court Automated Programs). I develop Ruby/Rails/Sinatra applications (mostly used internally, but a couple public sites).
In the past I’ve worked on a few open source ruby projects. I’ve also developed an entire Ecommerce platform in Ruby on Rails. You can see it here:
At work I use an Ubuntu machine and I program in VIM and use RVM to manage my rubies. I deploy using Capistrano to various server setups including Passenger, Unicorn, Mongrel (legacy apps) and Tomcat (for jRuby apps).
Outside of Ruby, I’ve started focusing on the mobile platform. I’m beginning to feel pretty comfortable with Objective-C and have one application in the App Store (yeah, another flashlight):
I’m comfortable administering servers in a *nix environment and have been doing so for about 6 years. I also have a couple of applications deployed to server instances in the Rackspace cloud.
I use a Mac at home for development and everyday needs. I also have a FreeBSD file server (with ZFS) and a couple of Ubuntu media servers.
