Ruby On Rails Developer
Pay: £25-50k dependent on experience
As a Ruby On Rails developer at AlphaSights Ltd you will play a key role in developing an innovative web based system from the ground up in a fun and rewarding start-up environment. You will have the opportunity to get involved with the design process early on and help mould our product to become a market leader. You will have an excellent web programming background with a passion for Ruby and a flair for robust, clean coding. You will have a keen interest in agile development processes and be a strong, communicative team player. Your responsibilities include: * Ruby on Rails software development * Mentoring other developers, passing on your valuable experience * Reviewing and auditing code * Database schema design * Object oriented design * Front-end web development using JavaScript, XHTML and CSS Required Skills: * Demonstrable track record developing web application in Ruby on Rails or similar framework. * Strong understanding of good code design principals such as DRY and thin controller/fat model * Understand the key factors in making your code secure. * Testing using Rspec, TestUnit, Shoulda or similar * Experience with MySQL, Capistrano, Migrations, HTML, CSS, JQuery/PrototypeJS and RJS * Working knowledge of unix-like environments such as MacOS and Linux.
