I currently work for Technical Assistance and Consulting Services and the Western Regional Resource Center, based at the University of Oregon. I’m your standard issue all-purpose IT guy – Windows, Linux, OS X, networking, system administration, user support, etc, etc. I’ve been a PHP developer since 1998 as well, and started looking at Rails in the summer of 2005. By the end of that year (when 1.0 was released), I was using Rails for one of our projects at TACS – the National Post School Outcomes Center. This site has been active since early-mid 2006 (and has some cool graphs): http://psocenter.org/state_profiles/ Since then, I’ve written a fairly large app used for internal operations at our center and have been working on a few other apps built to help state education departments manage their State Performance Plans.
In my spare time, I’ve built a few little apps here and there. I’ve also been developing a rather large app – well, a game really – at http://aethora.com.
I recently launched a site for a local client here in Portland; a print and media company: Phoenix Media
