Charles Crawford currently works as the User Interface Director at gubb.net, a new startup company focused on smarter lists and GTD. Charles is highly experienced in web accessibility issues, web standards, advanced CSS, Javascript & DOM scripting, Ajax, open source programming and web services. He is also an experienced interface designer having lent his style to numerous online applications, gubb.net being his most recent contribution which has been very well received.

Charles has had extensive agency experience for the award winning London-based branding consultancy, Lloyd Northover (formerly Citigate Lloyd Northover) and Boston-based interactive agency, RDVO. He has led major technical initiatives for clients including MeadWestvaco, Fidelity, Reuters, Sony Music (U.K.), Delta Dental, Shire Pharmaceuticals, International Air Transport Association (IATA), Reed Business Information, Legal & General, Target Software, Mosquito Magnet, as well as local Boston startups, Digizaar and Peppercoin.

Charles recently helped RDVO complete the re-design of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority’s website. He helped implement their new Google Map functionality, the front-end interface, web standards compliance and site accessibility. The site was a finalist for the SXSW Web Awards 2007 in the CSS category, and has been nominated for a 2007 Webby Award in the Government category. The site was also named a Design Interact Site of the Week in March 2007.

Charles was born in Cape Town, South Africa. He also worked in London, U.K., prior to his move to Boston.

Charles received a diploma in Three-Dimensional Design from the Cape Technikon, South Africa. He is currently completing his BFA: Industrial Design at the Massachusetts College of Art. He is also a co-inventor for patents of Peppercoin’s payment method and processing system.
