Working With Rails

I have 14 years of software development experience. I built my first web site during the summer of 1995, and while my career hasn’t been exclusively web-focused, I have done quite a bit of web development. I started working with Ruby on Rails professionally in January of 2006 when I went to work for CapRock Communications and built a portal for their customers.

After leaving CapRock I went to work for The Hive where I worked on the affiliate site for singlesnet.com also with Rails. About a year ago I began working on a distributed, fault-tolerant data store in Erlang and spent less time with Rails, though I still did plenty of Ruby development. All of this development was done on Mac OS X and deployed to Linux servers. I have a long history working with UNIX and I am very comfortable with it.
