We are currently looking to secure the services of 2 experienced Ruby on Rails developers for a highly progressive company based in Liverpool (UK). Reporting to the development team leader, their main responsibility will be to work on the design, development and support of Ruby on Rails web applications supporting the business integration of two large business units. The successful candidates will work with the existing team, sharing accountability to deliver the team's core responsibilities; ensuring support, project and small change, is delivered to a high quality within the agreed key performance indicators (KPIs), and via the team's development methodology - Agile. There is also a requirement for the successful candidates to work as part of a team support model/rota, to deliver 24/7 support for applications deemed business critical. All out of hours work will be duly compensated, however the right individuals will demonstrate a can-do attitude, with a level of quality and confidence, to ensure the highest level of support is provided. This client has many adventurous IT initiatives linking together web, mobile and traditional IT technolgies and successful candidates will be exposed to and gain experience of many of these including Hudson CI, Rspec, Cucumber, Android etc., as the client continuosuly seeks to gain a competitive advantage in its marketplace. Please send a copy of your CV and a covering email to paul@virtual-resources.co.uk. If you have a relevant blog, or code samples, these would also help support your application. Applications can only be accepted from candidates who live in and are eligible to work in the UK. Telecommute is NOT an option for these roles. We are also willing to consider applications from RoR developers with one year or less experience at lower salaries.
