Pay: competive salary
We are a small but mighty team looking to get more mighty. We are looking for someone exceptional because we believe that putting together deliberately smaller teams of all-stars is the best way to build software. We are essentially a startup. But in a good way. We don't have all the startup drama. Nor the long hours. Nor any outside investment. And we are profitable. We are building interesting software in a space without a lot of interesting software: payment solutions. We are doing greenfield development. Mostly in Ruby using Ruby on Rails. But we aren't just Ruby Programmers or Rails Developers. We prefer leveraging other technologies when appropriate. For instance, we do not have a traditional ROR architecture and we expect our system will take advantage of specific features in languages like Erlang and Clojure. Our challenge is the same as every development shop: build the best software in our space. Our approach is to hire great developers and place them into an environment that is conducive to hacking and painting. To do this we offer all that you should expect: great salaries, benefits, and team members. We are not looking for any rock stars. We want to hire super talented people who are more interested in the band's music than breaking furniture in hotel rooms. We value aptitude over experience. We also value maintainable teams and codebases, feedback loops, and we prefer essence to ceremony. And though some of our best developers work remotely, we are building the foundation of a Chicago-based team that will be highly collaborative. This is as much an opportunity to define the team as it is to be a part of it. If our team and values sound like a good fit for you, please send an email with a copy of your resume to jobs+workingwithrails@getbraintree.com.
