myenergyuse.com is currently an invite-only application that's going to launch soon, and we're looking for some expert Rails developers who are interested in being a part of our team. About the product: The application allows users to track and analyze their energy usage so that they can make wiser data-driven decisions about their investments. The site eliminates many common barriers to making buildings more energy-efficient -- it's a win for the environment, and a huge cost savings to the users. We have a well-defined and focused growth strategy, with some large-scale customers lined up and a lot of interest. We are expecting rapid growth relatively soon, and want to start getting a permanent team in place. Interested applicants will be provided with much more detail. Who we're looking for: First and foremost, the ideal candidate must be a Ruby on Rails master, experienced in working with applications that have been deployed in real-world settings. This means you must practice test-driven development, write well-refactored and efficient code, understand things like polymorphism, the internals of ActiveRecord, Capistrano, etc. Beyond this, we would like to find candidates who understand the fundamentals of database design and are willing and eager to tackle complex technically challenging problems on this front. User interface is also a critical part of the website, so experience with front-end development is a big bonus. In short, we are looking for a well-rounded developer who can hit the ground running and wants to work in a dynamic, exciting, fun start-up environment doing something that's both technically very interesting and has a tangible, positive environmental impact. If you don't have a formal resume handy to send, don't worry about it -- just include a brief note describing your relevant experience, availability, etc., and we can chat more from there. (Of course, if you do have a resume on hand, feel free to send that along). This is a full-time permanent position with full benefits, and we need people who are local to Boston (you don't have to work in the office 8 hours a day, but you need to be able to come in and work here as needed).
