After spending 8 years working with Java and even more years working in C++ I discovered Ruby some time in early 2004 and never looked back. This was shortly before Rails and the big community explosion and it was a fortuitous time to arrive.
I started using Rails for my hobby projects with one of the early releases 0.5 or 0.6 but did not get an opportunity to use Ruby and Rails professionally until 2006 when I joined Cominded and later when I joined reeplay.it where I developed the web front-end. I gambled on Rails 2.0 and have not been disappointed so far.
In my spare time I mainly dabble with producing music, learning piano, and practicing karate. I’ve built a MIDI sequencer for Mac OS X called Elysium as well as a Rails log-file browser Spike.
I’ve also written numerous smaller applications, gems like Mailtrap, and plugins like Simply Versioned
