I’ve been developing web applications for over 8 years now, and when I came across Rails a few years ago (just as it turned 1.0) I was sold almost immediately.
As a co-founder of The Working Group, a web applications consultancy, we moved from building PHP sites to building Rails sites almost exclusively.
More currently, as the System Architect for Zazengo I found myself building a team of rails developers to put together a large rails application with many component parts, widgets, a Facebook application, an XML API, a Flash visualization tool, as well as a large application unto itself.
I’m a generalist, I love to work on every aspect of the web development process, whether it’s the brainstorming and specification phase, or server administration, to of course, the main work of development in between.
I believe in writing clean, readable code that is well tested both by an automated test suite, and a human one.
Overall, I want to use my development skills to make useful things for real people to do better in the world.
