SaaS Sales and Sales Development (Ruby on Rails)

Pay: Competitive

Do you have a sales background, web dev tools experience, and are looking for a hot SaaS product where you can make your mark? In this role you will be the direct sales engine of New Relic. You will need the personal skills and drive to do direct sales with technical customers and the analytic skills to build a systematic sales approach that helps our thousands of SaaS subscribers understand the value of upgrading. At New Relic we are passionate – possibly even crazy – about Rails. Even more so about application performance management. Our mission is to radically improve the performance and scalability of Rails applications, making web applications run better, making internet users more productive, and making life easier for developers. And the marketplace has responded- we are growing rapidly, exceeding even our aggressive goals. New Relic was started just a year ago by a group of people who have created successful companies before. Our product, RPM™ was introduced in May and since then we have been growing by nearly 200 customers a month. RPM is very easy to install and use and gives a lot of value to our customers. Go to our website to read some of their comments about RPM. You will be joining a unique team. People who succeed at New Relic have a sense of urgency, a lot of initiative, a commitment to customer success, an enthusiasm about pushing the edge . . . and a really good sense of humor. We can provide interesting work, a great product, new things for you to learn, and the freedom to make the job work the way you want it to. Working in this role you will • Negotiate and close deals with new and existing customers to license our application performance tool, RPM™ • Manage and prioritize our sales pipeline • Participate in shows, webinars, and other selling events • Help design, implement and evaluate systematic programs to identify upgrade prospects in the NR subscriber base • Report to company management on sales results, plans and needs • Advise Marketing and Development on product and features feedback • Contribute to blogs and online resource sites • Have fun and contribute to turbo-charging the world of Rails development To be considered seriously, you will have • Minimum of three years of experience doing web-related software sales or sales support • Provable record of success with other sales positions • The ability to handle yourself in a technical discussion • Ability to use web-based communication tools – webex, twitter, iChat, etc. • Ability to give a product demo • Hands-on or selling experience with web development or application management tools • Excellent oral and written presentation skills • Experience with Ruby on Rails is a good thing • Experience with other web platforms or tools is good too
