Working With Rails

I’ve been doing rails development since the first released version of rails, back in 0.5 in 2004.

I was the architect & lead developer at odeo.com where we built out one of the first large scale rails sites. In addition i helped build the team which went on to create twitter.

Most recently I’ve the architect on Yahoo! Fire Eagle, a location sharing platform. It was the first Ruby on Rails site to be launched by Yahoo and also introduced OAuth to yahoo.

In addition to rails projects i’ve been working on writing Testing and Debugging Ruby on Rails for O’Reilly and contributed to the Rails Cookbook. I’ve give talks on Rails, Testing, ActiveRecord, and related topics at Rails Conf 2007, Euro Rails Conf 2006, SDForum, MySQL Conf, XTech 2008, and many other smaller conferences.

I’m available for freelance work on code and as a strategic consultant for rails architecture, performance, and scaling.
