Junior Ruby on Rails Developer

Pay: $40K to $60K based on experience

TelVue Corporation is seeking an energetic developer looking for a junior Ruby on Rails position where they can work with many different technologies in addition to Rails. TelVue Corporation creates Linux-based Broadcast Automation Applications and Video Servers that help our clients manage and deliver television channels, as well as stream their content on the Internet. This is a chance to work with a sophisticated media application written in Ruby on Rails and being used every day in the broadcast industry. We are looking for someone excited to work with several of the major development and operating environments in-use today including Ruby on Rails, Microsoft .Net, and Linux. Specifically, we are looking for a candidate with experience in: * Ruby and Ruby on Rails * Javascript/Ajax, HTML, and CSS * Relational databases In addition, experience with the following would be a plus: * MySQL 4.x and 5.x * Microsoft SQL Server * Microsoft .Net, C# * Linux including 2.4 and 2.6 kernels, hardware and software install, OS management, etc. * Unit Testing and Test-Driven Development * Flash including ActionScript * Familiarity with Scrum or Agile development methods * Experience with media applications including content management systems, digital asset management systems, streaming video servers, IPTV, and broadcast television We use Agile development methodologies and are strong believers in object-oriented programming practices such as design patterns. This position is for our Mt. Laurel, NJ office where you will work as part of our media technology development team.
