With more than 14 years of experience in the field, I have worked for some of the biggest companies in Brazil in fields ranging from education to energy generation.

I have been working with Rails since release 0.8, with dozens of applications now in production, some of them serving millions of pages each month.

My activities in the Rails community include authoring a 300-page book/tutorial about Rails 1.2 for the Portuguese community licensed under the GFDL; and organizing and presenting at various Rails events, including one of the first Rails conferences in Brazil. I have given Rails training to many companies; in fact, I was responsible for the first Rails training ever in Brazil.

I’m now working for Abril, one of the biggest media companies in Brazil using Ruby to deliver fast, robust and cost-effective solutions.
