Ben is currently a senior software engineer at LivingSocial. He’s worked with Heroku as a developer advocate, and he’s built Ruby on Rails applications for Web 2.0 startup as the technology director at Viget Labs. He’s spoken at RailsConf, Rails to Italy, RailsConf Europe, RubyConf, and more over the past several years, and as of 2009 is program co-chair for RailsConf. In 2011, he joined Ruby Central as a director.
In 2007 and 2008, he won the solo division of the Rails Rumble (with Irksome, a web-based IRC client, and with Forever Home, a better way to find dogs needing adoption). In 2009, he served as an expert panelist and provided feedback on a large number of Rumble entries.
