Working With Rails

I’m 23 and I’m a programmer at Mapunity, Bangalore.

At Mapunity, I’m busy with recognizing social issues and developing solutions using technology. For example, I’m currently working on http://bcity.in which is a platform that brings citizens and law makers together on one platform and encourages discussions regarding issues and other events concerning the city. I’ve used Ruby (REE) on Rails (3.0.7), jQuery (1.6.1), HTML5 and Compass SCSS to build the site.

I joined Mapunity right after graduating with my Information Science & Engineering Degree. While in college, I did an internship at eLitmus (http://elitmus.com), Bangalore where I along with a friend, developed an AI Search Engine for their knowledge base.

I’m highly aware of the happenings in the Tech World. I love reading and my subscriptions include Hacker News, Signal vs Noise, TechCrunch, RubyFlow, The ChangeLog, Smashing Magazine, BBC Techology and Wired.

Apart from being a geek for most of the day, I’m a big football fan. I’ve been playing football since I learnt to walk (or so I’m told). I’m an ardent Chelsea F.C supporter.

Music is something I’m deeply into. I manage to pick up my guitar now and then and strum together a few tunes.
