Who am I?

My name is Jason Coffin. I was born in 1975 in a small coastal town of Rhode Island. I’ve spent most of my adult life in Boston, MA, but I recently moved to Columbia County, New York. I now enjoy a beautiful view of the Hudson River.

What do I do?

I am a freelance web developer. I build web stuff–web sites, web applications, and web services–for you or your organization.

Occasionally I do staff consulting; so please contact me if you need help on an existing project or if you need another member on your team.

What don’t I do?

I love art and pretty things, but I’m not a graphic designer.

How do I do it?

I take a great deal of pride in my work; I believe in software craftsmanship. Software should be relevant, well-tested, flexible, and easy to understand.

Where do I do it?

I have an exceptional home office and I make very good use of it. I will travel for face-to-face meetings when needed.

How do I charge?

Whenever possible I charge a flat fee per project. There are no hidden costs. When project based billing isn’t possible, I bill by the hour, day or week. I also have a retainer fee if you want ongoing maintenance, troubleshooting, or monitoring of your application.
