I’m a computer (and technology, generally speaking) lover since my early childhood. I always had intense contact with games, and when I got my first computer (around the age of 8), it blew my mind.
I remember having thoughts like “hey, how do they build these programs? I want to learn to do that too!”, and so did I.
Since then, I did personal experiments with various languages (C, C++, Javascript, Java, Shell Script, Haskell, LISP, Python), scratched a few others in a “Data Processing” technical course (VB.NET, C#, PHP and Delphi) and now I’m having more in-depth Java classes, on my University.
I always had in mind the “one language per year” goal, and my last year’s (2010) “language of choice” was Ruby.
Since mid-2010 I’ve been studying Ruby through books, tutorials and blogposts. It’s a language that I enjoy studying. Latter I began having a look at Rails, as well as some Agile-related literature. At the present moment, most of my experiments are using Ruby + Rails + RSpec + Cucumber + Git.
Now, I expect to find a (trainee) job in which I can gain experience in a professional environment, so I’ll be able to always learn more.
