The systems in question were the Alcatel Connect Exec Agent (Alcatel Networks – 5620 NMS) and the Cingular Wireless FPDB/TIPS OSS. • Specified and implemented a command line interface (CLI) for an embedded TL1 agent for a broadband equipment manufacture. This interface masked the complexities of the TL1 protocol from end users and simplified management of optical transmission equipment (add-drop multiplexers / cross connects) from a user perspective. The CLI application exhibited CISCO-like behavior (hot-keys, command completion, help, etc) while meeting tight customer resource requirements (memory usage/ CPU cycles/ performance/ reliability). The solution was built for a VxWorks (RTOS) board (power PC 860, 50MHz and 32M memory) using the Tornado environment. • Implemented the Object Management Group (OMG) CORBA Telecom Logging Service and Time Service using Vertel’s OMG compliant ORB, eORB. • Ported Vertel’s eORB and eORB Services (Naming, Logging and Notification) to several platforms – Linux, Linux-mips, Windows NT and VxWorks.
