I am currently implementing a test automation framework in Ruby that makes use of the selenium grid framework. I use rspec along with the selenium-client and deep test gems in my test code.
The framework allows QA team members to execute a suite of web tests from Team City by clicking a run button. The test execute in parallel against all operating systems and browsers. The team can view the results in Team City or Rally. Each test script is mapped to a rally test case so that the business can understand what the tests are doing without reading the code.
I develop the scripts using an IDE from Jet Brains called Rubymine. I run a local instance of the Selenium Grid for development purposes. I use the Rubymine integration with rake to run my scripts locally in parallel. I develop on a Mac book pro and the scripts run on Cent OS team city agents.
