Background

2009 This past year I left the corporate world and have ventured on my own as freelance web developer. I am busy wrapping up my first major solo project, a Storage Resource Management (SRM) application that sits on top of EMC Clariion arrays and provides business and technical reporting. This is a relatively large application and capitalizes on a few good open source projects namely Rails, PostgreSQL, JasperServer and Pentaho PDI. This application was wholly designed and developed by myself. The project is now moving into a sales phase. 2004-2008 I was employed in the Business Intelligence department at Woolworth’s a large retailer in South Africa. Through the years I have filled the roles of developer and systems analyst culminating in myself architecting and managing the BI stack for Woolworth’s. This comprised of a 12-server Cognos 8 BI installation. Older I have worked as a VB6 developer, SQL developer and a C#/ASP Web developer.
