Working With Rails

In Amsterdam I worked as a web developer with Ruby on Rails since 2007

I developed in this time several web sites and helped out with various others. My main projects where: restaurantweek.nl shop.ethnicchic.nl nationalebeeldbank.nl for stedelijkindestad.nl I implemented the full text search with sphinx

tools & techs we used: - test driven development (we used mainly Rspec for testing) (we where usually writing the tests before the code and had a test-code ratio of 1:1 or more) - many of the acts_as, like acts_as_tagged, acts_as_tree etc - multi upload with swfupload - full text search first with ferret, later we changed to sphinx, because it’s more reliable and easier to install. - parsing xml feeds with hpricot - online payment (doc data, rabo internet kassa), - MYSQL databases & SQL
