Working With Rails

Currently working full time with as lead developer at Profit Streams, a Rails and open source startup located in Denver, Colorado.

Focusing on crafting quality Rails code using BDD / TDD principals with RSpec and Cucumber Pickle, Factory Girl, Capybara and Selenium.

Our current project is a dual database application using both MySQL and MongoDB as our document object store. This application is an ambitious project that covers a lot of interesting technical ground including the following:

The project uses Git for source code management with deployments being handled by Vlad. Our Server is hosted on Amazon S3/EC-2 using Ubuntu running Nginx. I’m looking forward to trying out Chef in the near future.

Like many Rails developers who tend to be a jacks of all trades, I could be classified as a generalist, comfortable working in all parts of an app, spanning the very back end server type working all the way up to doing front end work. After working with Rails for several years now, I learning new things about the framework on a daily basis.
