Werner Bahlke is currently the co-founder of MetroCascade Media, Inc. He and his partner built metrocascade.com, a local news aggregator, in Ruby on Rails.

Werner built most of the administrative infrastructure of MetroCascade and integrated the new UI, which was designed by a contract web designer. He integrated Javascript code to make tables sortable and pageable, used Ajax when necessary, and made the site geo-aware with geocoding and Google map integration.

After many years of managing software engineering projects while at Sun Microsystems and other industry leaders he is back to his programming roots. Before becoming a Ruby on Rails expert, Werner ’s progamming accomplishments included HTML and test programming a transaction verification system using VoIP, and a foreign exchange system for the then Swiss Banking Corporation.
