Once upon a time I grew up cutting my teeth in the early days of networking, building servers by hand, and tinkering (cat3, dumb terminals,Bridges, Open VMS, Novell, NT4.0). My first office was in a server room, the first server I ever administered was ordered in pieces and the operating system came on tons of floppy disks. Over the next 10 years I worked my way up the ladder to being an IT director at a large finical institution. I had virtualized my datacenter yet again and was really starting to get bored. As luck would have it several of my friends got into open source specifically Ruby on Rails and started working at a start up. While at an Oracle Red Hat training I got an email asking if I was interested in doing something different. Well after almost 2 1/2 years now of working with Rails and other open source fun the answer is clear yes, yes I was!
Today I am happy serving as the Support Manager for the East Coast side of the world at Engine Yard.
