Working With Rails

I’m an avid Ruby on Rails developer and fell in love with it ever since I realized how well it gave structure to web development. I see Rails as a catalyst for a web framework “revolution”. Before working on Rails, I was a PHP developer and I have worked on various software and web projects. I also worked for almost a year as a programmer on Pusit.com – a Friendster affiliated company which developed and maintained products such as Friendster Classifieds and Friendster Ads. I co-founded a small software development house back in 2006 – Hypermedia Software Development Services – which developed various web sites and applications for local companies in the Philippines.

I am also a huge supporter for Open Source software. I co-founded and was founding president of a Linux User Group called the University of the Philippines Linux Users Group – a student organization which advocates the use of FOSS in the academe.

I have a Bachelor in Information Technology degree from James Cook University Australia. I’m currently employed as a software engineer for an online video company called Viki (http://www.viki.com/) doing Flash and Ruby on Rails development.
