Working With Rails

I am holding an MSc in Mechanics/Electronics. Since my graduation from university 4 years ago I was working for technology based companies. My programming background lies in ANSI C (also for 8 bit microcontrollers), C++ and other languages. I first learned about Ruby on Rails in 2007 after acquainting myself with PHP. Since then I was eager to develop professionally in Rails.

I am a GNU/Linux enthusiast and have twice gone through the compilation of a LFS and BLFS (www.linuxfromscratch.org) system, which runs on my desktop computer as well as on my webservers.

I administer a private webserver plus nameserver in our office for development and experimental hosting for our clients.

I am now 27 years old and employed as a Rails developer in an small company in Vienna. I am currently working on the following Rails projects:

• A web based questionary with data analysis for a Management Consulting Company.

• A web based helper tool for a restaurant (orders, reservations, billing, etc.)

• A social and content-related platform for academics and scientific papers.
