I started out as Science Editor of Thomson Reuter’s World Patent Index and moved into Open Source IT recruitment in 2008 – it was a daring move, but one of the best moves I’ve ever made. Rubbing shoulders with Ruby on Rails developers gave me the appetite to go into development myself. Thanks to coaching from RoR developers, self-teaching and tutorials I am working on my first RoR project with Open Spaces. My ideal next move is a RoR developer position in Brazil where I would like to combine a Rails development stint with evangelism and church-planting.
