Working With Rails

I’m an on-again, off-again Rails/PHP developer. I’ve worked on small internal projects for clients and developed a SaaS product for real estate property managers (that unfortunately got the plug pulled last minute). I’m currently working on an e-commerce app using Spree.

Typically, I use Rspec for testing, Haml/Sass for views, make_resourceful for controllers, jQuery, Blueprint, and anything else that looks like it’ll take less time for me to learn than implement.

I’ve contributed code back to the skinny_spec plugin and the Radiant open source CMS (and I’m currently in the process of migrating my own website from WordPress to Radiant). More of my work is on GitHub.

Away from my desk, I run, play volleyball and ultimate frisbee, read a lot, stay away from TV, and take care of my cat so she isn’t tempted to burn the house down one day.
