I first discoverd Ruby in 2001 when it was still considered as “that language from Japan”. Grabbed the first opportunity I could to be paid for writing Ruby.
Rails is great but I consider myself a Rubyist first and there are some other fantastic technologies out there (Sequel, Ruby/GNOME) that are just itching to be fully exploited.
