For the last twelve years I have worked in IT filling positions as a software developer, tester, network engineer, and even as a PC technician. Since 2001 I have worked primarily on web applications. Initially this work was in C# backed by MS SQL Server. Since late 2005 my primary focus has been Ruby on Rails and the Linux server stack. In the fall of 2005 I went back to school to finish up a degree in computer science at Columbia University. During my time there I have pursued interests in machine learning, information retrieval, natural language processing and search. While in school I have also continued my professional growth by getting involved in the Ruby community and speaking at three professional conferences. I am excited and passionate about solving hard problems and developing applications that many people use.
