Our mission is to evaluate and highlight the many values of biodiversity and put authoritative biodiversity knowledge at the centre of decision-making. Since our establishment in the 1970s, the Centre has been at the forefront of the compilation, management, analysis and dissemination of global biodiversity information, and has an outstanding record of achievement. We’re producing a constant stream of high profile web projects which will really enthuse a talented ambitious Ruby on Rails Developer We need someone who • Has a first class degree in computer science or equivalent • Lives and breathes Ruby on Rails (though similar frameworks/languages still interest us if you’re keen to learn) • Knows how to architect a web application • Has database experience, preferably with Postgresql • Is passionate about clean and elegant code • Uses JavaScript including jQuery • Is a collaborator, enjoys working with others on open source technologies • Has worked with geospatial data.
