I’ve written the stepspecr plugin that gets you to over-bdd by speccing the given-when-then steps for user stories:

I’ve done quite a bit of work on pragdaves proof of concept testing library that introduces transactional behavior over setup-teardown-before-after-blocks and uses plain ruby comparison operators instead of fancy assert or should statements. You can get it here :
