Working With Rails

Juan started his career developing software for telephone exchanges in C, but in 1997, soon after the Internet boom in Argentina, he fell in love with Perl and realized that dynamic languages were the best way to develop Internet applications.

Throughout his career he has become deeply proficient with Unix and Linux systems, and with integrating Open Source inside businesses. He has the operations and infrastructure expertise needed to run highly available and high traffic sites, which he put to good use for many years as the CTO of Terra Networks Argentina.

Today he’s gone back to his first love and enjoys programming in Ruby and Rails, but he knows you can’t just stick with one technology in a field that evolves so rapidly, so he’s always exploring and learning new technologies.
