I’m Johannes Fahrenkrug, a freelance software dude and security
consultant. I started programming when I was 12, moved through some
years of Java, web development and ANSI C development on Linux and
OS/2 (yes, it just won’t die). I finally started full time freelancing
in the summer of 2007.
Now I enjoy making the newest technologies usable to my customers. I
think it’s important never to cling to “old” technologies just because
you know them if something new gets the job done more efficiently and
elegantly. So I guess I have a fascination for learning new languages
and frameworks. My languages of choice are Ruby, Python, Objective-C/Cocoa and JavaScript at the moment. I live with my lovely wife Simone in Northern Germany.

I (‘m learning how to) play the guitar, always read about 3 books at the same time, love good food and love to travel.
