Omio is an innovative mobile phone comparison site built with Rails. We built the site with a fantastic team from ThoughtWorks and are continuing to work with them to keep launching loads of cool new features. We’re really keen to put together an in-house team to help continue improving the site at a lightning pace, so we’re looking for some talented developers to come and join us. We’re based in Camden, London and have a really cool, relaxed office environment. Omio is a project produced by TrafficBroker, an Internet marketing company. TrafficBroker’s only 3 years old and is doing really well (50 staff, £10m annual turnover) – it basically provides all the cash to invest in cool Rails projects. If you’d like to work on Omio and lots of other interesting Rails projects we have lined up send an email to neil@trafficbroker.co.uk Last but not least, a few (ok lots) of cool things about working with us: 1. A team going places We expanded from 25 staff at the start of 2007 to over 50 by the end of the year. Our turnover is also growing exponentially. And there’s no sign of stopping soon… 2. An International Mix We have a fantastic range of cultures at Forward with staff originating from over 18 different countries: England, Germany, Italy, France, Spain, Greece, Austria, Denmark, Poland, Lithuania, Iran, Tanzania, India, China, Malaysia, America, Chile and Brazil. 3. Commitment to training We have our own reference library containing over 200 books, adding over 25 new books a month. We also have regular internal and external training courses to foster career learning and development. 4. Great benefits package We will double your (optional) monthly pension contribution up to 3% of your basic salary. We also offer an annual budget for you to spend on any combination of health insurance, travel insurance, gym membership etc… 5. The latest kit We think it’s really important to make it as easy as possible for people to get their work done. So, when you join you’ll get a nice new Mac (or whatever you fancy really) a lovely big 24inch screen etc… 6. Great working environment We like everyone to feel comfortable in the office so have a casual dress code and flexible working hours. 7. A beautiful office Our office leaves visitors green with envy. We have two amazing massage chairs, our own bar, a Nintendo Wii, a PS3, two guitars and an amp, a mini-scooter, 5 cameras for staff to borrow whenever they want and fresh fruit delivered each day… Not only that but we’re based in Camden, which is a pretty cool place to be. 8. Entertainment budget Each team has a monthly entertainment budget so they can spend some valuable time together outside work. We also have regular company parties where we’ve taken staff on activities such as bowling, paintballing, eating nice food and just a little responsible alcohol consumption… 9 Company holidays Last but not least; holidays are great! In our short history we’ve already taken the whole company to Vegas (twice), Prague, Krakow and Amsterdam. Activities on these trips have included a helicopter ride landing in the Grand Canyon in Vegas, paintballing in the forest in Amsterdam and a 135m descent into a salt mine in Krakow.
