Working With Rails

I am a software developer for Keymind, working up in the D.C. area, but living down in Blacksburg, VA. I’ve been working on enterprise J2EE applications for several years, but have recently become interested in dynamic language, especially when running on the JVM (so, Jython and JRuby). I am also interested in agile development, both from the development practices standpoint (unit testing, pair programming, simple designs up front, etc.), as well as from the planning side (scrum, user stories, partnership with a product owner, etc.) I’ve been working on an agile team for a couple of years now and really believe that it is a huge help for developing software.

Personally, I’m married with four kids. I’m a second degree black belt in Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate. I am a pretty good cook, and have recently picked up the hobby of photography. I’ve got a long way to go on that one.
