Ruby on Rails programmer for Recurly, a recurring-billing B2B company. At Recurly I do back-end development in Ruby/Rails.

I formerly worked as a Ruby on Rails programmer for Tickle Inc. (a division of Monster.com). Tickle’s internal interstitial ad displaying and lead optimization website is written in Ruby on Rails. I didn’t write the site, but I came onboard shortly after it was written and added extensive enhancements to make it fast enough for production-level work.

In addition I write many other Rails sites from time to time. My personal home page is a Rails 2.0 website with all the bells and whistles, though some of those whistles are only visible from the administrative tools. (Features: edge rails, resources, EJS, uploads, privileges, admin tools)

My old World of Warcraft guild, The Mechanical Squirrel, was the beneficiary of four websites of mine:

  • Applicant tracker: Loads character data from a plug-in, generates applications from that data; administrators can review applications, comment on them, track their progress through the application process, and accept or decline them. (Features: resources, uploads, privilege levels, admin tools)
  • Bank repository: Loads bank data from a plug-in, maintains a list of the holdings of all guild banks. Users can search for items they need, see crafting lists, and read a history of bank transactions. (Features: BackgrounDRb, resources, uploads, privilege levels)
  • Crafters’ list: Loads a user’s crafting catalog from a plug-in, maintains a repertoire of the guild’s crafting capabilities. Users can find out who can craft which items and what materials are required, and compare crafters to see who is the most learned. (Features: resources, uploads, Ajax remote calls)
  • DKP website: Loads raid data from a plug-in, generates DKP values from that data and credits them to players. Downloads DKP data for use by the plug-in on future raids. Users can check their DKP standing in comparison to other guild members, see which items have dropped, who won them, and how much was bid. (Features: BackgrounDRb, resources, uploads, privilege levels, admin tools)
