Working With Rails

BDT is seeking a qualified Rails developer to support the growth of our custom software application. This position will responsible for developing the strategic growth of the application in line with organizational goals, overseeing an internal developer and consultants, and software programming. Ideal applicants will be passionate about quality software development and have experience leading a team.

The ideal candidate will have:
•Experience managing developers and/or consultants
•Experience designing, deploying and maintaining at least one web application
•Strong communication skills and experience working in a collaborative environment
•Experience using Rails
•Developed competency with Javascript and CSS
•Experience using a *nix shell
•Familiarity with the following is a plus:
•Rails runtime stack, Apache/Passenger, Nginx/Mongrel, memcached
•Configuration tools such as Puppet or Chef
•Extensive systems configurations in dynamic languages

Primary tasks for this position will include establishing maintenance and project priorities, delegating work tickets, planning for system upgrades and growth, and programming.
