Working With Rails

We have an immediate need for a RoR Developer in Reston, VA. This is an awesome opportunity working on the first of its kind federal government project. It is highly visible role and we are looking for great talent!

Required Skills:
• 5+ years experience in developing complex, commercial web applications (RoR/J2EE/PHP/Python)
• Demonstrated record of success in developing Ruby on Rails solutions with MySQL on Linux
• Experience using agile development methodologies like Scrum and XP desirable.
• Strong believer and practitioner of unit testing, mocks and TDD
• Strong middle-tier development experience (stronger in MC, less so in V)
• Strong knowledge of SQL using a major commercial database
• Has used or at least heard of FactoryGirl, Flexmock, ActiveResource, Shoulda, RedCloth, etc.
• Familiarity with product development in a consumer facing product
• Experience with Object-Oriented Analysis and Design, Design Patterns, Refactoring, highly desirable
• Web technologies/standards a plus: CSS, XHTML, HTML, AJAX, XML, HTTP
• Experience with SVN, CVS, or Git a must. (prefer Git)
• Facebook App development a plus
• Front-end development a plus

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

• Frequent user of Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, youTube, blogging, etc)
• Passionate about using and contributing to Open Source
• Comfortable using a Mac Book Pro
• Results oriented
• Outstanding communication skills
• Self-motivated and energetic
• Practical experience with Agile Development Methodologies
